Q. How do I know my door needs to be replaced?
A. Difficulty in opening and closing the door, which may be a result of warping, dated carpentry or just general ware and tear over span of time

Q. What is included in my standard door pack when I purchase my front door?
A. Night-latch, Heavy Duty Hinges, Finger pull, Door numerals, Letter box & back plate & a weather bar if required

Q. What is Night Latch?
A. Automatically locks a door when it is closed, unless it is certified as a British standard this should never be used as a main lock Q. What is a 5 Lever Dead lock
A. The main form of defence against attack Requested by most major insurance companies as a requirement for the home contents insurance. If you do not have a valid lock on your door, if burgled you insurance company can refuse to pay out against your policy

Q. What is a Sash lock (Insurance Approved?)
A. Mortice Sash locks have key operated deadbolt similar to a deadlock, but also incorporates a separate handle operated latch bolt. They are therefore particularly suitable for back doors where there is no night as the latch bolt will hold the door closed. Sash locks require suitable handles, which are purchase separately

Q. What are security bolts?
A. Supplied in pairs they are fitted to the top & bottom of the door to give an extra point of contact from the door to the frame. They also provide better protection against forced entry

Q. What are hinge bolts?
A. Hinge Bolts prevents attack on the hinges by bolting into the hinge side of the doorframe, which remain permanently fixed.

Q. What is a Finger Pull?
A. A finger pull is the cover, which goes around the barrel of ale key hole and allows you to pull the door towards you.

Q. What is a Back Plate?
A. A back plate is what is used as a door tidy to dress the back of your letterbox.

Q. What is a weather Bar
A. A weather is a wooden instrument can be attached to the bottom of your door in order to prevent excess weathering. This would generally apply to back doors, which are directly exposed to the weather i.e. if you do not have a porch recess this is one of many solutions to help preserve your external door.
